SEC Announces Revised EDGAR eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) Guide

On July 16th, the SEC announced the release of an updated EDGAR XBRL Guide, which is available on the XBRL Technical Specifications webpage at sec.gov. The technical specifications on the SEC’s website outline the valid framework and content for EDGAR submission types submitted in both XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) and XML (eXtensible Markup Language). SEC Adopts Updated EDGAR Filer Manual

SEC Issues EDGAR 24.2 Release XBRL Taxonomies Update

SEC Releases Final 2024 Security-Based Swap (SBS) Taxonomy and Sample Documents

On June 25th, the SEC issued the Final 2024 Security-Based Swap (SBS) Taxonomy and Sample Documents designed to equip the filers and vendors using the taxonomy. The final SBS taxonomy resources are available on the SEC’s Security-Based Swap Data Repositories and Execution Facilities webpage, and the illustrative sample documents are available for download prior to the upcoming EDGAR 24.2 release that incorporates the final SBS taxonomy into EDGAR. SEC Releases Draft 2024 Security-Based Swap Taxonomy Sample Documents

The SEC issued a draft version of the security-based swap (SBS) XBRL taxonomy in March 2024 that will be used by security-based swap execution facilities (SBSEFs) to file specified information electronically with the SEC using the EDGAR system in Inline XBRL. SEC Delays Effective Date for Rule Related to Climate-Related Disclosures for Investors

On April 11th, the SEC announced that it has delayed the effective date for rules adopted in March 2024 under the Securities Act and Securities Exchange Act that require domestic and foreign registrants to include specific climate-related data in their annual reports and registration statements. The final rules require information about a registrant’s climate-related risks that have materially impacted, or are reasonably likely to have a material impact on, its business strategy, results of operations, or financial condition. SEC Issues 2024 XBRL Taxonomies Update
