Completely Integrate Your EDGAR Filing Software With Legato

With the release of version 4.1d of the GoFiler Family, you may have noticed the addition of a new menu on the File and/or Submission Ribbons (depending on which application you are running). These new menus contain “extensions” to the application, written and developed by Novaworks’ staff using an open scripting language called Legato.

The development and release of Legato is an exciting advancement in EDGAR technology. This structured scripting language is designed to harness the powerful functionality of the GoFiler software to integrate your financial reporting software with other database and document production systems. Additionally, Legato provides GoFiler users with the tools to create new functions within GoFiler or to expand on existing functionality to customize the last mile of SEC compliance.

Legato is a structured scripting language with virtually unlimited applications. If you want to build tools to interface GoFiler with an external database, there are functions within the scripting language to establish a direct route between GoFiler and the database using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC). If you want to build a fast and easy function to expedite some portion of your document preparation process, you can design and write a script that employs, extends, or complements the tools within GoFiler.

The possibilities are endless. Legato harnesses the power of GoFiler but has the flexibility of a scripting language to provide the perfect platform to customize your filing software to meet your specific needs.

The tools to develop new scripts, functions and extensions to your GoFiler software using Legato, including an integrated development environment (IDE) are available within certain GoFiler products to provide the help and support you need to build and debug your own projects.
