Version 6.2a of GoFiler has been released. This release is in anticipation of Monday’s EDGAR Next release and will automatically switch over to the EDGAR Next system for submissions on 9/12/2025 at 10:01pm Eastern. Additionally, changes have been made to the Fee Exhibit Editor and there have been general bug corrections for a number of forms.
Please use the Check for Updates function to update your software to the latest version.
What’s in the Release
GoFiler Complete Application
– Corrected an issue with Sh+ File | New HTML where a new HTML code only window is opened.
GoFiler+ Application
– Corrected an issue with Sh+ File | New HTML where a new HTML code only window is opened.
General Items
– Multiple copies of the software running on the same computer will now log to separate log files.
– Updated a number of the file type descriptions, such as JSON, for the File Properties function.
XBRL View
– Corrected an issue that could cause duplicate orders if a targetRole is also used as an extensible enumeration and different elements are used with both.
EDGAR iXBRL Fee Exhibit Editor
– Created a separate template for Form S-8 with only Table 1 and Table 2.
– Corrected style issues on the default template for proxy and related forms for Table 2.
General EDGAR Updates
– The Series/Class lookup has been updated to use the SEC API.
– After September 12, 2025 10:00 PM Eastern, the application will automatically assume that the transition period is over. Users will need to update the EDGAR Next tab of the preferences to enter their Login.gov credentials in order to login to the EDGAR System.
– When the transition period ends:
– The “Transitional EDGAR Next” tab on the EDGAR tab of the Preferences dialog will be removed.
– The “System Access (Filing Agent)” section of the dialog will be replaced.
– The EDGAR Next tab will have the Transitional Password field removed, and the Login.gov credentials section will be added.
– Added a message to the EDGAR Next tab that appears if the Set EDGAR Next User Credentials function is controlling the EDGAR Next credentials.
– The Set EDGAR Next User Credentials feature has been updated to check if the library is currently in use before creating a new default library.
– Added logging to the default application log by the Set EDGAR Next User Credentials function, in addition to the existing logging method that uses a separate log file.
– The application will now check delegations for Co-Registrants when submitting.
– Added functionality to skip the delegation check for the current operation by pressing the ‘S’ key when indicated in the status bar.
– Corrected an issue that could cause instability when using the Update Entries using EDGAR menu option.
Form 17-H
– The additional space for the answers field has been removed. Filers wishing to supply additional answers should attach the correct exhibit instead.
N-PX Updates
– The application will now check the Reporting Owner Name and Address against the EDGAR system as part of the validation process.
– Entries deleted from the Voting Record list will now stay deleted when the file is reopened.
SCHEDULE 13D/G Updates
– The Document Type field is now properly validated.
– Item 4(b) will properly show a percent sign on the proof if the value is numeric.
Section 16 Updates
– The application will no longer check delegation for issuers when submitting.
– The application will now check delegation for reporting owners when submitting.
Data View
– Corrected a minor problem when deleting rows or columns that have read only or protected cells.
